Research Focus:
I hold a master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics with a specialization in nutrigenomics from Symbiosis International University, India. My master’s thesis focused on the role of genetic and microbial markers in sleep disorders such as insomnia and sleep apnea, aiming to identify biomarkers that could help improve sleep quality.
My PhD research focuses on investigating how phosphorus-containing food additives, commonly found in processed foods, impact gut health and metabolic functions. Using carefully designed diets and animal models, I aim to understand the effects of different types of phosphate additives on the gastrointestinal system and overall metabolism, especially in relation to chronic diseases such as metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disorders. Ultimately, this project seeks to clarify the safety and health risks associated with regular consumption of these additives and provide evidence that could inform dietary guidelines and food industry practices to promote better public health.
